"pase" ds. ZONAREA EFORTULUI ....

Cross-reference between training zones.

When looking at training zones there are different  methods (based on RPE, various HR measures, %MAP, %FTP...) PLUS there are a different  number of Aerobic training zones (I've seen anything from 3 - 5) and then there are the  anaerobic/neuromuscular zones on top of that.

Does anyone have a cross-reference between  them all?

I've found

which is along the lines of what I'm after but doesn't cover everything.

I need a Rosetta Stone. Thanks

As the Tour De France rolls into the second week,  and the racing continues to take it’s toll on the

riders, one can’t help but wonder how these  athletes are able to prepare and compete at such

a high level. We all want to ride faster, race  smarter,...

It requires some thought, but I think it covers them pretty well.

 Hello Barb...,

Since the 70s, the Romanian specialists in Academic Rowing  [Florescu, Mociani, Bompa, Popper] used five zones of  effort [was the period before the introduction of evidence on
short distances, 500m.] They called these areas as follows:

R1- …to 'Intensity much higher' than the competition,

R2-... 'Greater' than the competition,

R3- ….'intensity of competition',

R4-... 'smaller' than the competition and

R5-
….'much lower' than the competition, each area was defined based effort the production of lactic acid depending on the length and complexity of the  effort.

At the same time called it the American terminology areas as

1-'anaerobic strength' (15"),

2- ' Resistance anaerobic'(about 45"),

3- 'Effort to mixed, anaerobic-aerobic threshold' (cca120"),

4- 'aerobic strength (steady-state)' (3-7') and

5- 'strength-aerobic endurance' (effort over 8-10' ) ....,

I recently chatted with one of those specialists (Victor Mociani) and he replied candidly :"effort zones remained number 3...., for the first 2 no longer justify long recovery is lost and eventually all the 'with equal effort as in competition (
R3) is the most important [so workouts are' life  and death', so hard that resembles effort direct from the  competition.

I think so: In modern high performance swimming how things have the same trend, namely to reduce the areas of effort or number of exercises in training, mentioning that "the water is, the effort is not so tough 'such as that of evidence of academic Canoeing.

But, after all, zoning effort every sample or process devinde competition and other criteria (biotype sportsman, swimming  performance seniority, age, etc..) And most likely all of
these details were a semi-secret and EACH coach does not tell you everything about how he did in his career .......

Have a nice day…..

Barb Augustin  Thanks Mircea. I've also read that the division of Aerobic training into more than 3 zones is not supported scientifically. Also, in practical terms, if you can use less zones to achieve the same outcome it is less confusing for the athlete.

I have trouble when reading articles from swimming/cycling/running/triathlon/other endurance sports coaches because they don't all use the same zones. For example, in my cycling level 1 course (delivered by Cycling Australia) we were told there were 5 Aerobic Zones, a strength-endurance zone and 6 types of anaerobic interval training types (5+1+6=12), in information provided by Triathlon Australia, we were told there are 6 Aerobic training zones (no mention of anaerobic) and I notice in a paper prepared by British Swimming there are 5 Aerobic training zones (no mention of anaerobic). Surely it can't be that complicated!

Reiau acest pasaj:" I recently chatted with one of those specialists (Victor Mocian) and he replied candidly :"effort zones remained number 3...., for the first 2 no longer justify long recovery is lost and eventually all the 'with equal effort as in competition '(R3) is the most important [so workouts are' life and death', so hard that resembles effort direct from the competition. "

Barb, thanks much for you answer ... I'm very honored..., I wil finish my comment by this:"meatbolism is a complicated effort that has many options data and other factors that are not generally exercise [ sport cyclic or acyclic, swimming competition / long or stroke, age , level of training ... ] all areas of endeavor may be significantly different from on a case by case basis ... but ' market economy ' in professional sport has its laws , concealed or secret ... I understand the declaration of a major academic rowing coach [ Victor Mociani ], recognized worldwide [good friends with the famous Professor Bompa] which finally recognized that classical methods can have unexpected changes [ and more especially ' secret ', so called ' secret family ']
Repeat this passage : " I recently chatted with one of Those Specialists ( Victor Mocian ) and He replied candidly : " effort zones remained number 3 .... , for the first 2 no longer justify long recovery is lost and eventually all the ' with EQUAL effort as in competition ' (R3) is the most important [ to workouts has ' life and death ' , so hard That resembles effort direct from the competition . "

I know you are very pleased that we can correspond without us know and being thousands of miles away .... ITY , is funny , nostalgia a man much older who lived in ' the old days ', say, ' sport ' prehistoric times ' [ Do Emil Zatopek who exercise areas used in Olympic years 6th decade of the last century ?]

Bye, bye... Mircea
